10th Anniversary Message from Kerrie Murphy

Dear Friends,
Thank you all for your warm wishes on our 10 Year Anniversary here at Infinity Pilates. It was wonderful to see many of you at the Open Day to help celebrate this milestone.
The weather turned it on for us: there is nothing like a Pilates class with the sun filtering into the room with a gentle breeze blowing in through the windows. Magic!
It was lovely to meet new faces and have some of the clients join together and move as one. The energy was electric and so wonderful to have the whole class breathe together. Paul was on hand to help with some visual demonstrations on top of the Cadillac – any excuse to perform on a ‘stage’ – and to walk around providing some hands –on assistance. Many found the Beginner’s class a great challenge and they rose to it, walking out tall and proud after their efforts.
After the two invigorating classes we all settled down with a coffee and a cupcake to watch some inspiring footage of Mr Joseph Pilates from 1958. The commitment and intent throughout his demonstrations was outstanding. The clients watched with amazement as he pushed and guided his clients into new places, maintaining his persistence of how it was to be done. Paul was able to recreate some of the exercises in real time with the mats and equipment, showing how modern day advancements in Pilates and equipment technologies allow us to teach and instruct Joseph’s work with more passion, focus and specificity. Seeing Paul demonstrate Joes ‘crab walk’ (walking on hands and feet with knees straight) as he passed the raffle container around for the afternoon draw was particularly hilarious! A special “congratulations” to those who won our 4 raffles on the day. These people are now the proud owners of some Pilates equipment and DVDs; discount vouchers for upcoming sessions and one very lucky person received some quality exercise gear from Lululemon!
A big “Thank You” must go out to Marianne and Paul who assisted me throughout the afternoon and welcomed everyone with their warm hearts and contagious smiles. And also to Tony, who did an amazing job with the coffee, wearing the ‘Barista’ hat with confidence. The orders came in thick and fast and he was on top of it, keeping us all present and buzzing.
Thank you all!
Kerrie Murphy,
Studio Director/Instructor
